DURING THE APPOINTMENT
What happens at the first session?
I will:
-
Take a full case history
-
Examine your posture, movement, and any affected areas
-
Explain my findings in clear terms
-
Discuss a treatment plan with you
-
Begin treatment if it’s appropriate
Will treatment be painful?
Osteopathic techniques are designed to be gentle. You might feel some pressure or mild discomfort during certain techniques, but nothing should feel overwhelming. You can ask to pause or adjust treatment at any time.
Do I need to undress?
Sometimes it’s helpful to remove outer layers so I can assess or treat effectively. However, you’re welcome to stay as clothed as you prefer. I can always adapt techniques around your comfort.
Will the treatment room be warm?
Yes. The treatment room is kept warm throughout the cooler months, and I use a heated blanket on the treatment couch for extra comfort. If you prefer additional warmth, a separate soft blanket is always available to help you feel cosy and relaxed during your appointment.
Please do feel free to contact me if you prefer to have a conversation or if there are any other questions you have.
